Under intermittent supervision, maintains and repairs a variety of building facilities in a highly skilled craft capacity. Provides competent service for general maintenance, including but not limited to carpentry, painting, plumbing, general maintenance, metal, exterior maintenance, and event setup.
Establishes schedules and performs maintenance, inspections and repairs of skilled trades such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, general maintenance, mechanical, HVAC, roofing and exterior maintenance as required.
Assists other specialized crafts in larger, more complex projects and assists other shops as needed including scheduled moves and event setup.
Provides timely and courteous customer service, keeps supervisors up to date on daily work order statuses to ensure clear, concise and necessary communication channels are maintained and customer expectations are met.
May assist with training other maintenance personnel.
Reads blueprints, works from specifications, and follows instructions both written and oral.
Selects materials to complete work requests or projects.
Orders supplies and materials and maintains adequate inventory levels for maintenance tasks.
Performs make readies of classrooms and dorm rooms as needed.
Considered essential personnel and may be assigned to serve on special task force during periods of an emergency.
May occasionally clean small areas of organic substances. Will occasionally be on call. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
High school and 5 years experience
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent GED.Requires a minimum of (5) five years of direct job related experience in multiple skilled trades.
