Facilities and Property Management (FPM) is pleased to serve all members of the Portland State University (PSU) community. The facilities and grounds at PSU consist of over 5 million square feet of facilities and approximately 50 acres of grounds.
As part of the Operations crew, the Electrical Controls System Technician designs, installs, troubleshoots, operates and repairs plant electrical and electronic equipment, including direct digital control systems for all types of mechanical equipment. The position also reviews and gives advice on plans and specifications for new or remodeled spaces that include mechanical/HVAC/direct digital controls. All facilities personnel are considered essential personnel and may be required to respond to campus emergencies.
Possession of a valid state-issued driver's license.
Successful completion of a background check.
Knowledge of installation and maintenance of Direct Digital Control Systems (DDC).
Knowledge of Siemens Controls installation, maintenance and repair practices.
Proven ability to perform work in a professional, customer focused manner.
Proven ability to communicate effectively with the diverse campus community and staff.
Proven ability to perform the physical requirements of the job as mentioned in Working Conditions above.
Experience performing related work in a higher education environment.
