Under intermittent supervision of a manager, coordinates and may lead staff in the installation, maintenance and repairing of a variety of building facilities in a Journeyman level capacity. Provides service, support and guidance for general maintenance, including but not limited to carpentry, painting, general maintenance, metal, exterior maintenance, and event setup.
Coordinates work assignments with manager, may assign work duties of support personnel, and inspect work in progress as well as completed work.
Performs maintenance, inspections and repairs of skilled trades such as, electrical, carpentry, painting, general maintenance, mechanical, HVAC, roofing and exterior maintenance as required.
Reviews work orders and may coordinate work to be performed with customers on campus.
Assures an adequate inventory of tools, equipment and supplies to achieve unit objectives. Reads blueprints, works from specifications, and follows instructions both written and oral.
Provides timely and courteous customer service, keeps supervisors up to date on daily work order statuses to ensure clear, concise and necessary communication channels are maintained and customer expectations are met.
Assists other specialized crafts in larger, more complex projects and assists other shops as needed including scheduled moves and event setup.
May provide training and technical direction to other maintenance staff, and offer instruction in safety procedures and policy compliance.
Considered essential personnel and may be assigned to serve on special task force during periods of an emergency.
Will occasionally be on call.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
High school and 7 years experience
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent GED.Requires a minimum of (9) nine years of direct job related experience in multiple skilled trades.
