This position is in the Operations and Facilities Management Department (OFMD), Building Services. This position is for the Medical School Campus.
The General Maintenance Technician position requires the individual to be responsible for the minor repair of plumbing fixtures and light fixtures, responding to reports of leaks, clearing minor sewage blockages, and replacing ceiling tile. The applicant will work with ice machines and hoods as well.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Completes minor repair of plumbing fixtures.
Performs minor repair of light fixtures.
Responds to reports of leaks.
Clears minor sewage blockages.
Replaces ceiling tiles.
Performs plumbing, carpentry and energy management duties.
Inspects machinery to assure proper functioning.
Performs repairs and other duties as requested by the supervisor.
This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week.
Applicant Special Instructions:
Considerable amount of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling and crouching to gain access to pipes, wiring and equipment.
Equivalent of high school diploma. Minimum of two years of experience in carpentry, plumbing and/or energy management required.
Enrolled or completion of a 2-year technical certificate or degree program in related field.
The hiring range for this position is $18.80 - $23.99 per hour.
