Requisition Number: 2018032F Job Type: Full Time Job Category: Faculty Job Description Summary: The Facilities Maintenance Instruction Coordinator is responsible for organizing instruction, facilities usage, and inventory for the trade areas associated with the Facilities Maintenance program. These areas include Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical, and HVAC. Additionally, the Facilities Maintenance Instruction Coordinator will instruct the Facilities Maintenance classes, deliver corporate training through Texas Workforce Commission grants, fill in as a substitute instructor as needed for Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical and HVAC, and perform other duties as required by the Dean of Technical and Community Education. Essential Duties : The Facilities Maintenance Instruction Coordinator will: 1.Participate in the preparation and delivery of construction trades classes associated with Facilities Maintenance; 2.Maintain inventories of tools, classroom supplies, and commodities necessary for the delivery of all construction trades classes associated with Facilities Maintenance, including creating Purchase Requests for inventories and supplies for the classes; 3.Teach assigned Facilities Maintenance classes and Pre-Apprenticeship classes as well as be a substitute instructor for the trade areas associated with Facilities Maintenance; 4.Create and deliver corporate training in Facilities Maintenance as well as the trade areas associated with Facilities Maintenance throughout the Blinn College district; 5.Develop and maintain partnerships with area employers in order to cultivate input into the trades programs in order to improve the quality of material and curriculum provided to the students as well as employment opportunities for program completers 6.Participate in department and division meetings, serve on various committees, and perform other duties as assigned 7. Time and effort: 65% training, 35% project management. 8. Grant funded for grant year. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 1.Three or more years experience as a Facilities Maintenance Technician or Manager 2.One or more years experience teaching or training adults 3.Associate Degree Preferred Qualifications: 1.Five or more years experience as a Facilities Maintenance Manager/Supervisor 2.Three or more years experience teaching adults 3.Bachelor Degree or higher Salary Range: per faculty salary schedule |
