Manufacturing Lead, 2nd Shift, Monday-Friday, 2p-10p, OT Available
This position performs complex assembly of electro-mechanical equipment control cabinetry. Working from electrical schematics, general assembly criteria, workmanship standards, and experience, the position makes decisions on assembly sequencing, hardware and wire selections, component layout, and construction techniques. The position takes direction from product development engineering in assembling proto-type and engineered to order systems, modifying and correcting schematics, bills of material, and engineering drawings. Position working environment is highly variable and frequently self-paced with minimal supervision. Working independently in a production environment, the position is held to the highest standards in, and compliance with, safety, quality, delivery, productivity, procedures, policies, and metrics.
Essential Functions Functional
Read and interpret engineering assembly drawings and electrical schematics.
Plan and develop methods of work to accomplish a wide variety of assembly tasks.
Dimension and layout electrical panel components per workmanship standards and concept drawings.
Identify and select appropriate wire types and gauges based upon electrical schematics and workmanship standards.
Handle heavy gauge electrical wiring and plumbing routing and assembly.
Use tools including: Stud Welder, Green Lee Punch, Heavy Wire Lugging, DIN Rail Cutter, Band Saw, Custom Lifting Fixtures.
Work from partial product bill of materials, wiring schematics, and layout drawings of products currently manufactured and previously manufactured products from a variety of Manufacturing Operations facilities.
Evaluate unique assembly and disassembly requirements and prepare an approach based upon safe work practices.
Assess products returned from customers for service and plan restoration of cabinets and control assemblies.
Clean cabinetry, restore painted surfaces, and perform general preparation prior to product shipment.
Achieve a consistent level of quality.
Design and construct custom shipping pallets and crates.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Provide leadership and technical direction to work cell team of Manufacturing Associates as appropriate.
Identify potential roadblocks to team goals, propose solutions and resources needed, to the team, coach, or management.
Be responsible and accountable for implementation and compliance with team decisions.
Interact with, receive guidance from, and provide constructive feedback to Manufacturing, Quality, and Product Design Engineering.
Work independently and in a team of Manufacturing Associates and Engineering.
Provide skills cross-training to others from within and outside the facility.
Ability to engage and actively participate in complex problem solving, process improvements, and team meetings while utilizing effective communication skills.
