Manages University mechanical systems ensuring that equipment is maintained & operating in a safe & efficient manner. Supervises & directs Plumbing, HVAC & Preventative Maintenance shops in the completion of assigned tasks & responsibilities. Ensures & documents productivity of staff & contractors in repair & maintenance of University systems.
A thorough knowledge of the plumber/steamfitter trade and/or HVAC trade. Ability to read and analyze mechanical and piping drawings. Ability to supervise and manage staff and contract crews. A thorough knowledge of fire suppression systems and HVAC equipment. Computer and word processing skills are essential. Ability to develop estimates and perform “take-offs” from drawings.
State licensure in Plumbing and/or HVAC preferred.
