Vanderbilt Universityhas an exciting opportunity for an HVAC Mechanic Lead to join the Zone 4Maintenance Team in Plant Operations and Facilities Management. The HVAC team isresponsible for heating and air conditioning systems, chill water systems,heating/hot water systems, steam systems, etc. As an HVAC Mechanic Lead you will be tasked with maintaining the comfort heating & cooling systemsfor academic buildings, dormitories, and athletic buildings on campus. As anHVAC Mechanic Lead in Plant Services, you will also troubleshoot & repairrefrigerators, ice machines, air machines, chillers, and do preventativemaintenance (PM) on all equipment.
Plant Operationsprovides facilities support for all construction, renovation, and routinemaintenance of University Central space and facilities; housekeeping servicesfor approximately 5.8 million square feet of academic, administrative,residential, and recreational space; grounds care for 330 acres that are aregistered arboretum; turf care for athletic fields; and utilities for theUniversity Central and the Medical Center.
Facilities annual budgetexceeds $100 million in operating expenses and includes over 400employees. Facilities manages major capital project expenditures totaling~$125 million annually and facility renewal, replacement and large maintenanceproject expenditures totaling ~$20 million annually.

Keep equipment rooms clean and free of clutter/debris
Assist zone technician, plumber, and carpenter in performance of theirduties
Utilize work order system in all aspects, including parts ordering,printing work orders, parts look-up
Set up and monitor personal work order query
Process daily work order time sheet
Operate vehicle/golf cart and perform operator level maintenance

Typically we expect thesuccessful candidate to have at least 5 years of experience in a relevantposition. We also expect the ideal candidate to have a Universal HVAC License.
