The Communications Manager will be responsible for implementation of Easterseals internal and external communication strategy. The Communications Manager, along with Director of Communications, will help manage a world-class integrated marketing communications plan for Easterseals by creating cohesive and visually competitive online and offline collateral. The Communications Manager will be able to design and sustain a single look and message in all visual elements. The goal is to advance the organization's position with relevant constituents, as well as to drive broader awareness and donor support for the organization. The Communications Manager will be responsible for integrated communications products and services including: website, social media, newsletters, print publications event communications. The individual will use metrics and analytics to strengthen initiatives, outreach plans, improve results and demonstrate the value of marketing communication and outreach efforts. The Communications Manager will deliver messages that are noticed, embraced and remembered by the target audiences and that reinforce the brand.
Co-manage an integrated marketing communications plan to advance brand identity; broaden awareness of programs and priorities; and increase the visibility of its programs across key stakeholder audiences.
Work in a collaborative environment to develop and design all Easterseals print communications for all programs, departments and partner sites. Ensure these materials are available in multiple languages based upon specific needs.
Manage a 12-month editorial calendar for all communications organization-wide.
Collaborate with constituents, including clients, families, donors, employees, partner organizations, etc. to advance the brand and develop content.
Collaborate directly with leadership program managers and staff to develop marketing and outreach plans for divisions and programs of Easterseals.
Assist in the management of consistent national brand identity and standards to ensure proper and consistent national brand identity and standards to ensure proper and consistent logo treatment and other identify elements applied in all forms of visual communication. Collaborate with Easterseals National Headquarters and Brand Marketing Council.
Assist in developing and maintaining communication policies and procedures.
Assist in cultivating and managing press relationships to ensure coverage surrounding Easterseals programs, special events, public announcements and other projects.
Assist in media opportunities, and prepare talking points, speeches, presentations and other supporting material as needed.
Assist in crisis communication planning, including identifying challenges and emerging issues faced by the organization.
Assist in working with leadership team and staff to recognize internal and external communications opportunities and solutions and define and execute appropriate strategies to support them.
Manage Convio CMS, a full-featured content management system, to manage and maintain Easterseals website (www.eastersealschicago.org) by publishing, editing, modifying, organizing and maintaining workflow in a collaborate environment.
Write, edit and proofread all website content.
Develop content ideas and manage a 12-month website marketing calendar for content development for website.
Manage the website to maximize all email strategies that are available to Easterseals.
Develop strategies to obtain additional email addresses to include in our database of email addresses.
Design and edit images for website.
Create events for online ticket sales, post job descriptions, run reports for fundraising and event ticket sales in a timely manner.
Incorporate a variety of third-party tools into the website.
Utilize Google Analytics to monitor site traffic and usage statistics to strengthen website initiatives and improve results of visits to our websites.
Ensure website meets all Easterseals National and Easterseals standards and are accessible for all individuals with disabilities and visual and hearing impairments.
Maintain website training materials and resources.
Manage social media content and images via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.
Research other social media outlets and finds vehicles most appropriate for our organization.
Participate in Board Development & Communications Committee Meetings and Program Manager’s Meetings.
Manage internal strategies to enhance communication organization-wide.
Plan, launch and manage brand trainings for employees, Board of Directors and other key internal audiences to empower our constituents and leverage their relationships to speak about our organization in the community.
Plan, launch and manage intranet solution with multi-channels will improve the organization’s internal communication, collaboration, productivity and drives user adoption.
Plan, launch and manage an organization-wide automated system for phone calls, text messages and e-blasts to constituents and employees.
Implement the launch of automated email signature creation and deployment organization-wide.

Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field is required.
Minimum three years experience in business, marketing, advertising, graphic design, or a related area.
Extensive experience with Adobe Creative Cloud graphic design programs.
Experience in managing website and social media platforms.
Valid driver’s license.
Demonstrated skill and comfort in proactively building relationships.
Extensive successful writing and editing experience with a variety of print and online communications media.
Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Stature, gravitas, and confidence to gain the credibility and respect of high-performing Board of Directors.
Skillful, critical and strategic thinker that establishes clear expectations and continuously measures performance.
