Facilities Campus Operations is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to perform semiskilled maintenance and repair work on structures and equipment. To be successful in this position, you must possess basic knowledge of mechanical equipment used in building systems and demonstrate proficiency in the safe use of hand and power tools. In this position, you will:
assist with the installation, repair and constructions tasks in the mechanical, building, motor equipment, HVAC, plumbing and electrical trades
work from blueprints, drawings, and oral and written instructions to perform a variety of semiskilled repair, alteration, installation, and maintenance activities
oversee Maintenance Helpers, Laborers and other relatively unskilled workers performing manual tasks involving elementary skills on a project basis

Two (2) years of experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled trades worker or completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course.
