Work Schedule: Generally, Monday- Friday from 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. May require night and weekend shifts as needed.

Under the general direction of the Director of Technology Support, the incumbent will be responsible for the assessment, deployment, configuration, training, and support of multiple applications and systems for Facilities Planning and Management and Public Safety staff. The incumbent will use tools including Cherwell Service Management, Active Directory for accounts, GPOs, etc., PowerShell/Command Line for automation of tasks, SCCM for server and desktop patch management and baseline configuration, Ghost imaging systems, RDC and Bomgar for remote support, and other IT related utilities. The incumbent will ensure systems/data access, secure server configurations and system performance is maintained.
Working with other ITS departments and the Facilities Planning and Management and Public Safety departments, the incumbent will plan, coordinate, implement, and manage campus-wide short-term and long-term projects. This includes the planning and coordination of multiple local and campus-wide technology projects. Provide consultative project support and services to the user community to ensure problem resolution, timely project implementation and support. These tasks include, but are not limited to, reviewing new technologies and making recommendations to improve existing software and hardware for the end-users and providing end-user training as needed.
40% of time - Project management: Working with other ITS departments and the Facilities Planning and Management and Public Safety departments: project conception and initiation, planning, execution, performance/monitoring, and close both campus-wide short-term and long-term projects. This includes the planning and coordination of multiple local and campus-wide technology projects. Provide consultative project support and services to the user community to ensure problem resolution, timely project implementation and support. These tasks include, but are not limited to, reviewing new technologies and making recommendations to improve software and hardware for the end-users and providing end-user training as needed.

25% of time - Provide technical support for application and server information systems on campus by administering, maintaining, configuring, and deploying computer systems and applications for departmental and campus-wide use. Work closely with the Facilities Planning and Management and Public Safety departments, ITS staff and with student assistant technicians to ensure computer systems needed to conduct university functions are fully operational and secure, and comply with campus standards. The incumbent is expected to provide high quality technical support and world-class customer service to end-users with emphasis on customer service skills and server application support skills. ITC Career Level exempt employees may be required to work night and weekend shifts as needed.
25% of time - Working with state, county, and local government employees, provide technical support for other security and monitoring systems, access control systems, numerous vendor applications, emergency phones, HVAC and other building systems, ArcGIS systems, Case Management systems, and other Facilities and Law Enforcement sytems. Help keep CSUSB in compliance with all federal, state, local, and CSU laws and policies regarding the access to the data on our systems and the integrity and availability of that data.
10% of time - Other duties as assigned
Must have equivalent to a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or in a closely related field or other equivalent experience.
Minimum of two years of experience in an IT Support field.
Working knowledge of Project Management in Information Technology, Facilities Management, and/or Public Safety.
Working knowledge of project management software applications, including the five phases of project management: conception and initiation, planning, execution, performance/monitoring, and project close.
Knowledge of computer technology equipment, Windows and Macintosh computer systems OS, software applications, and Microsoft/Linux database systems.
Knowledge of Windows/Linux server software and both physical and virtual servers.
Basic working knowledge of enterprise virtualization technologies including VMWare, VDI technologies and other desktop virtualization solutions.
Knowledge of software and Windows systems in a networked environment using Active Directory and Group Policy Objects, along with installation and maintenance procedures.
Experience with remediating malware infections, customizing Windows installations, writing documentation, and maintaining asset inventory.
Ability to use internet, various IT management technologies and ticketing systems.
Demonstrate working knowledge of online project management solutions.
Troubleshoot problems with Mac OS, and Windows (Desktop 7/8/10, MS Server 2012/2016) computer systems.
Troubleshoot problems with applications like the Microsoft Office Suite on Mac/Windows, web browsers, multimedia applications, web browser plug-ins, and other diagnostic and administrative software.
Use consultative skills to assess user needs and provide appropriate technical support for instructional applications.
Ability to interpret and apply computing standards, protocols, policies, operating procedure, technical specifications, license agreements, confidentiality compliance, copyright laws, etc. to the computing environment.
Able to communicate and collaborate professionally, along with the ability to translate and relate technical details to staff/faculty who possess various technical proficiencies.
Manage and organize multiple tasks and projects, interpret written information and instructions, establish and maintain effective, professional working relationships with a diverse group of faculty, staff, students and members of the outside community.
Able to function cooperatively and productively as a member of a team.
Ability to safely lift and carry up to 30 lbs
