Building Automation Systems (BAS) Analyst - FMCS-2012682
Carnegie Mellon University's Facilities Management Campus Services (FMCS) is searching for a Building Automation Systems (BAS) Analyst. This is an exciting opportunity if you thrive in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by providing application and system-level technical support for systems related to continuous commissioning and building automation system (HVAC, lighting, meters, clocks, etc.) efforts. You will also provide system-level technical analysis work on OSIsoft PI System and automation software for functionality, operability, modification, fault identification and remediation.
Core responsibilities will include:
Monitoring the functionality of network connected BAS systems for proper operation. Troubleshooting network interface communication issues;
Managing and maintaining the points and logic within the data historian system.
Generates reports, charts, and spreadsheets for analysis and review with support staff and project engineering staff. Responding to requests for BAS-related data for operational and academic purposes;
Developing data displays using tools for graphics and time-series data trending;
Adjusting control algorithms and programs for functionality and suitability based on provided sequences and operating requirements;
Responding to after-hours trouble calls for resolution via either on-site or remotely to ensure emergencies are correctly and competently addressed;
Reviewing new building control systems interfaces for proper functionality;
Analyzing and revising existing system documentation and corrects discrepancies as necessary;
Assisting in commissioning and retro-commissioning on existing BAS System;
Implementing program changes and testing proper operation;
Coordinating with campus intranet (LAN) systems departments to maintain and troubleshoot multi-vendor networked and BAS system, connections, and communications;
Reading and interpreting construction drawings and diagrams.

Bachelor Degree in a technology-related discipline or equivalent work experience is required;
A minimum of one year of systems or applications analysis experience is required;
Experience in building automation systems controls technology preferred;
Excellent analytical skills;
Analyzing large data sets;
Proficient with SQL and relational databases;
Experience maintaining and troubleshooting networked devices.
Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills;
Demonstrated ability to work well within a team environmen
