Advertised Job Summary:
Under limited supervision, maintains and follows a safe, productive, cost effective, and comprehensive planned and corrective Hazardous Material Program for constant reliable operations relating to the removal of asbestos, mold, and lead by receiving work orders: communicating with Call Center and supervisor: planning, inspecting, verifying, communicating, and problem solving: and ensuring the Hazmat work areas are compliant with all OSHA and SCDHEC rules and regulations while exhibiting professionalism in conduct, appearance, and work practices. As the backup supervisor, supervises and ensures the campus wide and potentially state wide abatement and remediation work of a Hazardous Material Crew by prioritizing and scheduling work to be conducted: securing location; giving work assignments and ensuring performance of outside abatement personnel for large projects when outside employees are necessary; ensuring that assigned personnel are using personal protection equipment; testing, maintaining, and cleaning equipment and machinery that includes respirators, air monitors, negative air machines, infrared heat machines, manometers, drills, saws, and grinders; documenting and reporting; posting Material Safety Data Sheets, warning signs etc.; physical. Removing hazardous materials; complying with all applicable OSHA, SCDHEC, and EPA Laws, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures within fiscal limitations; encapsulating abated area; and properly containing and disposing of Hazardous waste materials.
Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
High school diploma and 6 years trades experience including but not limited to carpentry, painting, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, engine repair, moving, recycling, or grounds with additional skills additional skills in asbestos. SC driver’s license required
