Boston University Facilities is searching for an enthusiastic individual to work part-time at our Emergency Service Call Center.
Supervise, coordinate and maintain campus buildings relative to maintenance and custodial emergencies. Receive and handle incoming telephone calls for emergency service such as lock-outs, electrical, heating/cooling, elevator and plumbing issues from students, faculty and staff. Dispatch the appropriate trades or custodial staff to correct the situation. Create work orders for emergency service requests in our computerized system.
High School education.
Typing and computer skills, also knowledge of custodial and trades is beneficial.
Previous police or similar dispatch work experience with strong customer service skills are extremely helpful.
Able to multi-task and remain calm under sometimes stressful situations.
Hours: Our Emergency Service Call Center operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. After appropriate training, the qualified candidate will be expected to work 8 hour shifts, between one and four shifts per week, mostly evening and weekends, as need dictates.
This is a part-time hourly paid position.
