The Global Corporate Services team at Blackstone services all offices and lines of businesses across the firm. The team delivers services associated with Facilities, Office Services, Construction, Real Estate, Print, Publishing, Research, Expense Management, Corporate Travel, Events Management, Dining Services, Reception, and Physical Security. We are seeking a full-time employee to join the team in our New York office.
Position Objective: The Vice President of Global Facilities and Real Estate possesses the experience and knowledge in the field of corporate facilities and real estate to manage multiple projects and assignments as well as handle the fast-paced rhythm of the role. The successful candidate will assist the current Global Head of the group but will also have the experience to manage assignments independently though the full project life cycle.
Job Description: Blackstone is seeking a Vice President to work in tandem with the current Global Head of Facilities and Real Estate to manage current projects as well as oversee office leases, construction, landlord management, space planning and routine facilities operations.
The responsibilities for the role include:
Corporate Real Estate
Collaborate with the Global Head of Facilities and Real Estate to develop, implement & refine the operational infrastructure of systems, process and personnel designed to update and achieve the global corporate real estate strategy.
Assist in administrating the firm's global corporate real estate portfolio, with all leases, subleases, new business acquisitions, etc., and other related assignments.
Work with the Global Head of Facilities and Real Estate to provide oversight of global facilities and real estate projects in conjunction with regional Global Corporate Services leaders.
Reviews leases, sale agreements, work letters, building and tenant work rules, etc., provided by prospective Landlords and Developers.
Work closely with internal and external resources to complete real estate transactions, including internal and external counsel, real estate agents, 3rd party project management, etc.
Develop and manage relationships with a wide range of executives, managers, business line project management support staff, outsourced vendors and consultants as well as with internal Global Corporate Services teams (Hospitality, Physical Security, Office Services, etc.).
Functions as a technical resource for internal Design/Construction team on all construction matters including process improvement, construction technique, space planning, cost and time control, communication methods and documentation.
Provide input globally on Global Facilities and Real Estate operating and capital budgets.
Oversee the activities of property management, real estate contractors and consultants to ensure that assignments are performed in accordance with terms and conditions of contracts in cost beneficial manner.
Assist supporting the Program Management Office to ensure transparent and constant communications between Global Corporate Services teams, technology, finance and 3rd party vendors, contractors and suppliers in order to manage project deliverables, timelines and risks.
Working with Global Facilities Manager and local office staff to coordinate, recommend and manage contract and ad-hoc repairs and maintenance inclusive but not limited to:
Manage and coordinate facilities management contractual services.
Apply and interpret facility management, real estate management contract administration, negotiation procedures, methods, techniques, regulations and ordinances.
Develop, implement and manage policies and procedures for facility use and maintenance.
Prepare reports on facility and real estate projects, plans or issues.
Research and recommend appropriate facilities and real estate resources, equipment and training.
Prioritizes work for projects, gathers other needed resources, monitors progress, and takes ongoing corrective action as needed and evaluates results.
Able to represent Blackstone at regulatory, zoning and planning board meetings or other related hearings as necessary.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate facilities, real estate and office services management
Bachelor's degree required in related field (i.e. architecture, engineering, facilities management, real estate finance, etc.)
Ability to influence, negotiate and communicate with confidence through both written and oral communications
Ability to quickly pivot from team player-to-leader-to-order-taker on demand.
Knowledge of principles, processes and standards of commercial real estate transactions and commercial interiors construction, customary building codes, etc.
Ability to read construction drawings, specifications and plans
Experience with facilities operations, processes and systems
Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and building systems.
Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure
Remain organized and thorough in demanding and dynamic work environment.
Knowledge of and experience with Integrated Workplace Management Systems (IWMS or CAFM) for lease management and space management purposes.
