Department Summary Campus Planning and Facilities Management (CPFM) is a vibrant department, which comprises five units, and approximately 270 employees: Facilities Services, Utilities & Energy, Campus Planning, Office of Sustainability, and Design & Construction. The units of CPFM strive to provide excellent customer service to the University of Oregon campus and operate with the highest professional standards, communicating and collaborating with customers to support the stewardship of the campus.
Facilities Services (FS) is responsible for the management of human, financial and material resources, the development and implementation of programs, policies and procedures related to the operation, maintenance, repair and minor renovation of university buildings, grounds and infrastructure systems. These services provide the University of Oregon community with a safe, efficient, reliable, functional and aesthetically pleasing learning environment in support of the University’s mission and vision.
Position Summary This position acts in support of the Mechanical/HVAC shop in the ongoing mission to perform preventive, corrective, reactive and planned maintenance on the mechanical systems at the UO. Duties include replacement of belts, filters and sheaves. Under guidance of shop mechanics/technicians will assist other journey level personnel in HVAC, motor and pump maintenance. Use of the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to monitor work, enter timecards, order materials etc. This position will support the maintenance team and learn the process, duties and responsibilities of building maintenance. This position will receive direction for daily and weekly work from the Mechanical Shop supervisor, lead worker or PM team leader.
Minimum Requirements - The equivalent combination of one year of facilities maintenance or custodial experience - Experience with the use and care of basic hand tools and power tools - Experience with basic mechanical maintenance

Preferred Qualifications - Experience with basic Preventive Maintenance in Commercial, Industrial or Institutional Buildings
