-Mechanical and electrical maintenance experience in a commercial/industrial setting. -Experience using computer programs for preventive maintenance of complex building systems and equipment. Including but not limited to; experience gathering equipment inventory data, experience with mobile devices to input and process data, experience with computers to input and process data, types of programs used. -Experience preparing documents and managing contracts for maintaining complex building systems and equipment.
Facilities Planning and Management at Iowa State University is looking to hire an Engineering Technician I. This position is responsible for the following duties: Assist with developing, planning, scheduling, and implementing computerized Planned Maintenance (PM), and other labor management programs. Evaluate current PM methods products, and repair procedures and developing new and modifying existing procedures to minimize the maintenance and repair costs. Assist with reviewing new and remodel construction project plans for compliance with university guidelines for minimizing future. maintenance costs. Coordinate the external safety inspection services to maintain a safe working environment for the faculty, students and staff. Provide technical support and other troubleshooting expertise to shop personnel. Coordinate, schedule, and supervise maintenance work done by outside vendors.
