Facilities Management (FM) supports the University of Virginia's wide range of research, academic and patient care programs. With over 1,200 employees dedicated to excellence, Facilities Management is responsible for the day-to-day operation, repair and maintenance of U.Va.'s buildings, infrastructure, and grounds as well as other University-owned and leased properties.
Our Utilities Group has an exciting opportunity for a Utilities Supervisor, who acts as a first-line supervisor providing leadership for the plumbing/pipefitting and welding teams in Utilities Distribution. The incumbent supports the goals of sustainability, reliability, and service as they relate to infrastructure including almost 6.5 miles of steam tunnels and more than 150 miles of steam, heating hot water, condensate, chilled water, storm and sanitary sewer, and domestic water and associated pumps, converters, heat exchanges, water storage tanks, and related equipment. The Utilities Supervisor supervises maintenance and repair and ensures quality services are provided at reasonable costs. The incumbent also provides positive leadership in a manner that reinforces the University's commitment to a respectful and inclusive workplace.
This position is eligible for a $2.00 per hour working conditions pay.
