This position is in the Department of Operations & Facilities Management. The position is located at the Wohl Clinic. This position is for the Medical School Campus.
Position provides facilities maintenance services to assure quality conditions for mechanical/electrical systems and building structures.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs routine/repair maintenance on machinery/mechanical equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operating manuals, manufacturers’ recommendations, instructions, etc.
Observes/adjusts a wide variety of mechanical systems, machines and devices, such as pumps, motors, engines, compressors, or equipment, to ensure proper operation.
Repairs/replaces soap dispensers, towel/tissue dispensers, mirrors, shelves, cylinder restraints, ceilings, doors and associated hardware, etc.
Repairs/replaces plumbing, such as faucets, flushometers, valves, etc. Clears obstructions as necessary.
Replaces defective electrical switches, breakers, receptacles, etc., inside or outside of buildings.
Performs electrical safety checks for C.A.P. inspections.
Regulates/repairs steam/hot water system equipment, adjusting valves, thermostats, and dampers.
Coordinates chemical waste disposal through the Environmental Safety Office.
Assists with installations, moves, certifications, remodeling, tagging, fabrication, cleaning and delivery functions.
Equivalent of two years of trade school or three years of related work experience.
Working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems.
Applicant Special Instructions:
This position works with various locations including hot, noisy, and humid mechanical spaces, pipe shafts, ceilings, etc. and outside in weather conditions, with frequent need to climb ladders, stoop, kneel, crouch and lift up to 50 lbs.
The hiring range for this position is $19.18 - $24.47 per hour.
