Diagnose, test, repair and install plumbing systems, traps, sinks, commodes, urinals, water systems, valves (mixing, relief and electrical), pumps (sump, ejectors, circulating), laboratory plumbing systems, dishwashers, stills, autoclaves, cagewashers, hot water heaters and associated storage systems. Install or replace packing, and repair of valves, pumps and traps. Perform pipe repair and fabrication. Install and repair sanitary and drain systems. May install fittings, hangers, anchors, and guides. Perform annual certification of back flow preventers. Order materials and supplies as required. Insulate pipes and equipment. Read and interpret plans, blueprints and sketches. Maintain clean work area and/or clean job site upon completion of assignment. Direct lower other relevant employees as assigned. Train other relevant employees using various training methods as assigned. Observe safety rules and precautions Perform related duties as required

Must be willing and able to support a diverse and inclusive environment.
Thorough knowledge of plumbing standards and techniques, and the ability to skillfully apply same.
Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license is required.
Must be able to obtain and retain certification as a back flow preventer tester (refer to memorandum of agreement from December 2010).
Must be willing to respond to emergency call-backs.
Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
Ability to climb and work from a ladder.
Must be able to climb and work from ladders, lifts, scaffolding, bucket truck, and staging at various heights, and to walk throughout the duration of a shift.

May be required to have the ability to work in areas needing selfcontained breathing apparatus or respirator.Â
High school graduate or GED (trade school preferred).
Final candidate required to pass a criminal and DMV background check satisfactory to Brown.
