Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions currently has an opportunity for a Mechanical, Electrical, & Plumbing (MEP) Construction Manager and Energy Marshal in Boydton, VA. The Data Center Construction Manager will serve as the Owner’s Agent and will be responsible for ensuring the project scope, schedule, and budget for the construction of a data center facility is managed and quality results are delivered that meet or exceed client expectations. Additionally, as Energy Marshal they will manage the client’s Control of Hazardous Energy program in an assurance role. Key Responsibilities - Monitor the execution of the project scope from preconstruction, construction, and close - out
- Inspect project work to contract and design standards
- Oversee quality delivery; manage Non - Conformance Reports and resolution
- Establish and manage an Energy Isolation assurance process and works with site teams to close any gaps identified in assurance audits
- Participate in High Risk Activity (HRA) planning meetings associated with Energy Isolation
- Ensures approval process for proposed Energy Isolation procedures is in place
- Work with the Authorizing Energy Marshal to establish an Energy Isolation Permit process
- Engage in site safety and actively promote delivery of a safe product
- Identify project objectives and milestones; monitor the development and implementation of action plans and schedules by the General Contractor and their sub - tier vendors and consultants
- Support the change management process in providing clarification and guidance on questions regarding scope, justification, and technical detail
- Manage approved changes for field implementation
- Identify and assist in the mitigation of project risks and monitor the development and implementation of corrective action plans
- Establish, coordinate, and attend / conduct all necessary project meetings
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports covering scope, budget and overall project status
- Ensure all required project documentation is completed in a timely manner and is maintained in the appropriate master project files inclusive of all reports, logs, submittals, RFIs, specifications & drawings, correspondence and other relevant documentation
- Inspect and manage construction logistics, procurement, and supply chain management, including Owner Furnished Contractor Installed equipment
Skills / Qualifications - 20+ years of construction project management experience on multi - group, multi - disciplinary, projects; mission critical facility experience a plus
- Master Electrician, Plumber, ASHRAE, or Certified Construction Manager certifications a plus
- OSHA 30 - hour certification
- Knowledgeable in major regulations, industry codes and standards as well as construction materials, means, and methods
