Under direction, assist with maintaining the facilities Building Management System to a high level of reliability and performance. Perform work as directed related to modifying Building Automation System logic, software enhancements, hardware upgrades, hardware and software points, and alarm point generation. Under supervision and direction, this role will participate in commissioning and performing installation, implementation of new hardware and software logic. Perform field verifications of hardware and software points and assists HVAC and other staff with troubleshooting.
Perform evaluation of hardware and software points to ensure reliable performance of the Building Automation System (BAS) and other applicable systems. Complete maintenance, preventive maintenance and system diagnostic tasks on systems and equipment as required.
Respond to service calls from HVAC staff and take appropriate action in a timely manner.
Set priorities and handle multiple projects or assignments to meet completion schedules within established timeframes.
Modify and adjust building automation logic routines and digital controls within Building Automation system and software.
Provide technical support to equipment operators and other staff where applicable. May provide training for HVAC and other staff to utilize standard troubleshooting techniques.
Assist with and perform commissioning as required and by the specification for the projects assigned.
Perform feasibility studies. Install, Inspect, test and repair Building Automation System Controls.
Support strategic planning or efficiency/process improvement initiatives.
Assists with quality, setting policy and procedures and keeping records.
Observe policies and procedures and safety regulations in accordance with department and organization requirements; including applicable City of Los Angeles Municipal Codes.
Adhere to all facility safety standards with a high degree of regard to patient safety. Responsible for assigned signed out tools and equipment.
Technical - Ability to use software applications and operate technological devices (e.g., computer, laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc.).
