The IUPUI Office of Campus Facility Services (CFS) is seeking a Zone Maintenance Manager.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the daily work activities for personnel of a multi-craft maintenance shop to ensure safe, efficient, quality service is provided. Administer a variety of personnel actions to include, but not limited to, hiring, recognition, corrective action, time-off requests, and training.
Identify facility and property maintenance needs through consistent facility tours and inspections, and address any deficiencies by developing maintenance project lists and participating in all aspects of design, budget and construction.
Serve as the primary facility liaison with departmental, university and external contacts in an effort to streamline all building and grounds activities through the responsible zone maintenance manager.
Identify, develop and monitor preventative maintenance activities to improve the life cycle of all university facilities and properties consistently across all work units.
Participate in an on-call rotation to cover emergencies on campus.
Perform other duties incidental to the position as required.
Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of supervisory experience in a maintenance related field or five (5) years of journey person experience in a maintenance related field; OR High school diploma or GED and ten (10) years of relevant experience, including five (5) years of supervisory experience in a maintenance related field or five (5) years of journey person experience in a maintenance related field.
Working knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) and architectural systems and processes. Basic knowledge of commercial building codes and standards. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a skilled trade team in a diverse environment. Demonstrated interpersonal and supervisory skills. Ability to proficiently use Windows based programs, including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to read and write in English, and perform basic math. Ability to learn and demonstrate the IUPUI Service with Distinction standards. Ability to follow the requirements of department's business continuity plan (BCP).
