This position is responsible as the primary lead for operating and maintaining the heating and cooling systems at the Brooklyn Park campus (emergency backup for Eden Prairie campus) within compliance specifications and licensure requirements; address campus environmental needs. Weekend work per scheduled is required.
Specific duties include:
Maintain campus boiler plant and functionality of all supporting systems to state code levels
Maintain proper campus HVAC operational capabilities to meet operational needs
Maintain piping and fixtures throughout the building and grounds
Maintain proper campus operation of air conditioning and absorbers systems
Operate, program and optimize campus energy management systems, train others to do the same
Maintain professional skills and licensure for assigned duties. Perform leadwork for assigned maintenance mechanics
Possess and be able to maintain a current State of Minnesota, Chief C (or above level) Engineer Boiler license
1 year of experience performing similar work as a Chief C (or above level) Engineer operating commercial boiler equipment
Knowledge and demonstrable skills of the principles, practices in plant operations and maintenance of low pressure boilers, and commercial level systems for; heating, plumbing, air conditioning and ventilation system
Knowledge and demonstrable skills of the principles, practices in plant operations safety with the ability to training others to do the same. Knowledge to include absorbers management
Knowledge and demonstrable skills to properly maintain piping and fixtures and related welding skills
Have sufficient mobility move and safety operate department equipment and be able to lift minimum of 50 pounds
Employment experience in MN State system or similar higher education setting
