Supervise the installation, repair, assembly and maintenance of HVAC systems and all HVAC-related equipment ensuring compliance with codes, department instructions, work schedules and quality standards.Â The Supervisor will manage staff, oversee the day-to-day activities of the shop, be responsible for quality control and quality assurance, and contribute expertise to departmental initiatives. The Supervisor will plan, schedule, and prioritize work for the skilled and semi-skilled staff assigned to the shop, ensuring proper distribution of assignments and adequate manning, space, supplies and facilities for subsequent performance of duties; will provide work direction and guidance to personnel within department.; will ensure work orders are completed and are consistent with appropriate processes, codes, regulations, and standards; will requisition and maintain an inventory of the material and will monitor maintenance costs and compare against the shop budget; will help prepare project recommendations, designs, cost estimates for construction, renovation and maintenance projects, and assist with scheduling contracted services for construction, renovation, and maintenance activities, coordinate work projects, coordinate operations with other departments, and inspect completed projects.Â
Requires, HS diploma/GED and 7 years of experience, at least 5 years managing staff, union environment preferred. Must possess considerable knowledge of the methods, practices, tools and materials of the trade; skill in the installation, repair and maintenance of all types of HVAC systems; ability to make accurate labor and material cost estimates; ability to read blueprints, plans, and specifications; ability to analyze maintenance, repair, and construction data and make recommendations pertaining to safety, quality, and efficiency; ability to supervise, train, and evaluate the work of others; must be willing and able to support a diverse and inclusive environment; knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local codes.
