Reporting to the Manager, Central Plants, this position is responsible for the operation, maintenance, repair and improvement of the Camden Central Heating/ including associated equipment and auxiliary boilers located on the Camden Campus. Incumbent coordinates and manages diverse utility projects.
The Camden Central Heating Plant has the capacity to produce 40 MBTU/HR. 3 Boilers- 2(10 MBTU/hr), 1(20MBTU/hr).
This position also oversees satellite boilers located at Cape May, Bridgeton, Eco-Complex, Chatsworth, Mays Landing, Cream Ridge, Port Norris and Tuckerton. 24- hour monitoring from the Camden Central heating Plant as well as weekly site visits to these locations is required in accordance with 12:90 Pressure Vessel Compliance Regulations.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Requires a New Jersey Gold Seal License, with a minimum of 5 years experience in power plant management, including experience and training in the areas of distribution, fired and unfired pressure vessels. Requires a Universal Refrigeration License or obtain one within 6 months of employment. Knowledge of and experience with HVAC equipment and controls, operation and repairs. Supervisory experience including supervising equipment repair contractors is required. Computer literacy including Energy Management Software, Equipment Monitoring and Microsoft Office is a requisite.
Ability and experience in power plant, distribution, and related heating and cooling equipment.
The position needs to be proficient in equipment controls including but not limited to system components for Steam and Hot Water Boilers, Refrigeration Machines and Cooling Towers. The position must be familiar with Data Acquisition Software required by the operating permit of the plant and equipment under his supervision. Must be able to utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System for routine and emergency work orders, identifying and performing preventive maintenance and charging out time for employees.
Salary: Starting salary will be commensurate with experience and within departmental budgets.
