Quality Control Supervisor (2000582) - Beaumont, TX
We are seeking a professional like you, to join our team as a Quality Control Laboratory Supervisor. This position will supervise the QC Lab and 12 lab technicians. This lab supports the production of BASF's agricultural chemicals.
Provide analytical and quality control support for operational and environmental groups at the Beaumont site.
Develop, validate and implement analytical methods, and improve current methods.
Oversee and help prioritize activities and duties of the quality laboratory.
Coordinate samples to be analyzed by contract labs. Review data generated from internal and external labs
Support the quality departments activities to ensure compliance with all regulatory, BASF and Site policies and practices for EHS, quality and Responsible Care. Provide leadership in departmental and site EHS and quality initiatives
Participate in site training topics and provide leadership and support for laboratory training and technician development. Lead and train technicians on analytical methodology and procedures
Lead, train, coach and evaluate team of shift technicians. Give technicians directions / guidance for projects and help organize workload and prioritize project tasks. Develop continuous improvement plans with defined milestones and objectives for shift technicians.
Support Management of Change (MOC) process for laboratory related activities involving changes in, raw material vendors, product assurance plans, chemical process, specification, analytical methods, training, SOPs, JSAs, etc.
Control overtime and expense budget for the laboratory.
Ensure proper operability of all laboratory equipment including ventilation hoods, HVAC, safety alarms, instrumentation, LIMS system, data backups, etc.
Provide leadership in a technically demanding team environment and respond to changing business needs safely and promptly while minimizing risk to BASF.
Ability to communicate across the organization and lead 12 technicians to meet manufacturing and sales demands.
Full compliance with site, company, state, and federal policies and regulations
Ability to motivate others and enforce culture of excellence and operational discipline within the laboratory to help drive Quality and EHS performance.
Effective time management skills to manage daily activities

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You...
Bachelor's in Chemistry (+4 years technical experience) or HS Diploma +8 years technical experience in an analytical laboratory.
Experience providing analytical chemistry support in chemical manufacturing environment.
Experience with LIMS, (such as SAP QM) systems to manage and disseminate data.
Demonstrated strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated judgment in dealing with others and in dealing with technical issues of quality compliance and regulatory concern.
Demonstrated ability to lead, analyze, troubleshoot, and provide practical solutions for real world problems
