POSITION OVERVIEW Manage the College’s facilities maintenance year round to ensure a safe, clean campus for all faculty, staff, and students. The ideal candidate for this position is a hands-on manager who can effectively lead by example.
Safely manage and operate plant equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.
Accountable to ensure that all annual inspections are completed for plumbing RPZ’s, Security & Fire systems, Elevators and Limited Access Lifts (LULA’s).
Manages HVAC and plumbing systems, DX cooling operations along with chiller & boiler operations and repair, plumbing systems, operations, and repairs.
Manages facilities-related external vendors.
Accountable for monitoring safety regulations as required by OSHA to ensure compliance.
Management of hazardous material, electronics, and other recycling and disposal.
Accountable for staying alert to all campus safety hazards to be corrected in a timely manner.
Manages the distribution and prioritization of maintenance request work orders.
Manages the College snow removal and grounds contract.
Manages the operation and maintenance of the forklift and bobcat as necessary.
Manage the College space set-ups for events and meetings.
Manages the maintenance of the College’s vehicles and trailers.
Accountable for maintaining licensing and compliance with all local, state, and federal agencies.
Accountable for performing monthly and annual tests of emergency generator and components.
Manages the performance and completion of projects and maintenance of buildings.
Accountable for maintaining a par system of facilities supplies through the College purchasing guidelines.
Manages work direction for outsourced grounds team.
Supervises work of the student workers.
Manages and accountable for other tasks as may be required and assigned by the college.
Associates degree or equivalent experience
Five years’ experience as a Facilities Manager.
Boiler license required, 1C minimum.
Two years of supervisory experience.
Proficient in all facets of building systems including large low-pressure boilers, single and multi-zone HVAC, DX systems, and plumbing.
Refrigerant certification required.
Strong PC skills, including experience working with Microsoft Office programs.
Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
