The department of Facilities Management (COM) is hiring a Senior Maintenance Mechanic. This position must follow OSHA and environmental safety and health practices. Successful candidate should have experience in all areas of the mechanical/electrical discipline.
The Senior Maintenance Mechanic must be able to read and interrupt plans, blueprints, project operations, and maintenance manuals. This position is responsible for setting occupancy schedules, alarm parameters, and establishing trend data points utilizing the building automation system. Additional responsibilities required include:
Maintenance and ability to troubleshoot, repair, maintain and calibrate:
HVAC control systems and building automation systems
Chilled water distribution systems
Steam distribution systems
Other associated components of these systems.
Maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems (high and low voltage systems)
Utilize refrigerant management practices in the repair of refrigeration systems.
Repair of plumbing systems and the tools required to maintain and repair these systems.
Repair of pump and fan assemblies, including alignment of these assemblies.
Operate and maintain chillers and small hot water boiler systems.
Provide support to other facilities maintenance units such as plumbing, electric, carpentry, etc.
Replace defective equipment such as control valves, thermostats, actuators, and flow monitoring devices (water and air)
Maintain closed loop water systems including pumps, air separators, expansion tanks, and air vents.
Maintain chemical treatment of closed loop water systems.
Candidate must be able to work any shift or schedule. Overtime will be required as necessary. Facilities employees may be required to report at their regularly scheduled times during emergency closures or during inclement weather to perform essential functions including snow removal duties.

Five years of experience with vocational training or eight years' experience with on the job journeyman status;
EPA Universal Refrigeration Certification.
