This position will coordinate the energy systems master planning efforts and building system renewal planning efforts on three technically intensive campuses. The position is mainly responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of long term strategies for infrastructure renewal, energy generation/usage, expansion capacity, and system upgrades to meet reliability needs and continuity of business operations.
The position will manage complex projects related to campus infrastructure (steam, chilled water, and electrical distribution) and building system (HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, life safety, and lab support) planning.
The position will also be responsible for developing project scopes and budgets for entering into the campus Integrated Priority List as part of the Facilities Division Strategic Resource Management initiative. This position will be responsible for capital project management project reviews and contributing to improving the design and construction guidelines.

May need to work when the University is closed to meet the needs of campus.
Bachelor’s Degree in the Engineering discipline related to the area of assignment; or and equivalent combination of training and experience.
Some positions may require licensure by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Experience in building systems, utilities, and infrastructure planning.
Experience consisting of project management, maintenance, and operations activities.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Prefer 6+ years' experience in Facilities Management to include building systems and infrastructure planning. Professional Engineer license is required or ability to within 1 year after hire.
Required license or certification:
Valid Driver’s license required. Valid NCDL within 60 days of hire, must be maintained.
