Job Summary/Basic Function: GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Maintains, services and conducts minor repairs on buildings and equipment. Performs a variety of semi-skilled duties in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC equipment servicing, or electrical. Complies with established safety guidelines and procedures. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. May require 0-3 years of general work experience. Work may be performed both indoors and outdoors and may require heavy lifting, stooping, ladders, and the operation of power equipment and hand tools. The employee in this class has no supervisory responsibilities.
Assist electricians by Installing or replacing lighting, light fixtures, electrical outlets
Assist carpenters by performing basic carpentry work and painting as required
Assist HVAC technicians by installing belts, filters on air handlers, etc.
Assist plumbers by repairing leaks, fixtures, etc.
Perform other duties as assigned
Provide exemplary customer service and a professional image
Minimum Qualifications: EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems Experience using hand and electrical tools Ability to read technical manuals and drawings Very good communication and interpersonal skills Physical stamina and dexterity High school diploma or equivalent Experience working in the building trades profession is preferred Must have a valid Texas Drivers License
