The Director of B&G provides leadership and oversight of the Buildings & Grounds Department which consists of a unionized crew responsible for the maintenance, repair, and project work on a large rural campus in upstate NY. The Director oversees the supervisors for Grounds/Horticulture, HVAC/Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry, and Transportation. The Director is also involved with construction, capital, and renovation projects. The Director of B&G is a key position at the College. Their work is challenging and requires strong leadership, the ability to shift focus and re-prioritize, as needed, and be solution driven. The successful candidate must not only have the qualifications and experience to do the job, they must also have the ability to communicate across constituencies and lead an established crew effectively and efficiently. This is a full-time, exempt, 12 month per year position reporting to the VP for Administration.
