The University of Cincinnati, College of Engineering and Applied Science invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Research Engineer to conduct research in the general area of water use in contemporary buildings. An important goal of the research is to gather field data and develop sound methods for accurately predicting peak water demands, a crucial consideration in current efforts to right-size modern plumbing systems. The research work is supported on an externally funded grant.
Design a statistically robust monitoring program to gather representative water use data on the frequency and duration of water fixture use during peak periods in contemporary buildings.
Develops procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy of water use data collection for analysis, and to validate parameters for predicting peak water demand in premise plumbing systems.
Design and develop experimental and laboratory systems for investigating the relationship between peak flows and pressure loss in modern premise plumbing systems.
Perform other related activities consistent with project objectives.
Participate in project planning and execution.
Present and report research results and publish scientific results in peer-reviewed journals in a timely manner.
Keeps up-to-date on scientific research via reading of literature, etc. Attends scientific meetings and seminars for research enhancement
