Position General Description The Facilities/Grounds Maintenance Coordinator reports directly to the Facility Manager and assists in carrying out repairs and maintenance of all school buildings and general care and maintenance of school grounds. This individual also participates in school-wide events and serves an important role in school safety and security.
Perform preventative maintenance duties as assigned
Assist in keeping the buildings and grounds well maintained and in good repair accordingto relevant codes
Assist in designing, building and installing small campus projects
Ensure the proper upkeep of key campus areas and systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC,landscaping, etc.)
Ensure safe use of all tools and equipment
Assist in keeping all school equipment in good working order
Assist full time in all summer and school break projects such as painting and refurbishingclassrooms
Assist with after school crossing guard or gate duty
Perform lockup duties at the end of the day
Set up for school events such as all school meetings, parent education nights and openhouses
Serve on school safety committee and assist in campus security
Ability to lift 50 pounds and move up to 100 pounds
Other duties as assigned
Desired Skills & Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess:
Aptitude and interest in facilities maintenance and project management (previous experience required)
Multi-skilled in general repairs and maintenance, including areas such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and landscaping
Enjoy being around children and part of a school community
Good communications and collaborative skills and a team player
