Job Summary
Exhibits a strong, self-motivated work ethic. Possesses the effectiveness to plan, organize, direct and facilitate activities within a matrixed structure to ensure the standardization of facility engineering processes and documentation across the System. Ability to implement policies, procedures, and programs related to the efficient and effective operation and maintenance of the central energy plant, utility systems, Life Safety systems, and grounds maintenance. Possesses knowledge of the Life Safety Code(r); local and state licensing requirements; and regulatory compliance associated with accreditation requirements. Directs and collaborates administrative activities involved in the initiation, planning and execution of projects and maintenance, organizing, staffing, and procurement and contracting. Implements and standardizes operational policies that incorporates best practices and procedures to enhance the overall effectiveness and efficiency of facilities directly under the assigned span and control. Assists in preparation and development of Facilities Engineering operating staffing models at local and system levels, operational and capital budgets, prepares budget justifications and cost estimates, and monitors actual performance/expenditures. Carries out special projects, and serves as subject matter expert regarding facilities and building operations for Harris Health.
Minimum Qualifications
Degrees:
Bachelors of Science in Engineering or related field required
Masters of Engineering or related field; Business administration as an alternate preferred
Licenses & Certification: Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM)
Work Experience:
Five (5) Years Work Experience Demonstrated experience in healthcare construction activities as a project manager, owner agent, or other project leadership role that required review and input to project design plans, detailed knowledge of facility mechanical, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure requirements.
Ten (10) Years Work Experience In an acute care hospital and CMS Regulatory Compliance in facility engineering or directly related field with at least five (5) years of experience working within a trauma level 1, 2, or level 3 facility.
Management Experience:
Ten (10) Years of Management Experience Senior supervisory capacity in Facility Engineering Operation and Building Management with at least eight (8) years of experience leading engineering operations within acute care hospital settings.
