Project Application Engineer II (Electrical Engineers)

We are currently seeking to add a Project Applications Engineer to our growing UPS team. The ideal candidate will have experience in Sales coupled with the ability to present technical subjects to non-technical customers. General knowledge of UPS or other power quality equipment, batteries and/or UPS and distribution switchgear a plus!
In this role you will plan, organize and manage proposals, technical information, submittals, orders and customer relationships. Supports sales channels and MEPPI customers by applying detailed understanding of the UPS and associated power quality systems. Create and execute work plans throughout project life from proposal creation through renewal service contracts. Additional Responsibilities Include: Review RFQ information from external customers and work with internal and external customers to prepare MEPPI proposals which include Specification compliance, pricing, Bill of Materials, Total Cost of Ownership documentation, drawings, scope of works and procedures. Effectively communicate project and customer information internally and externally. Provide technical support for internal and external customers. Participate in technical meetings, seminars, and presentations to promote MEPPI UPS products. Become familiar with local codes and standards as well as develop an in depth knowledge of the MEPPI UPS offerings to best align and recommend proper application of MEPPI UPS products. Understand, produce, present and review electrical, schematic, system and mechanical drawings. Provide communications both written and verbally to be distributed internally and externally to describe or promote UPS products. Communicate with operations and vendors and participate in vendor meetings to obtain product specifications and costs in addition to ensuring MEPPI compliance with customer specifications. Participate in onsite and internal scope review meetings including commissioning and planning meetings. Identify and minimize MEPPI risk and exposure on customer and vendor orders. Track and report customer information, order status and technical requirements. Evaluate and mitigate order costs including product costs, service costs and engineering hours.

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with minimum 3-5 years applications engineering and/or outside technical sales experience in power quality/distribution or equivalent education and experience. Knowledge of UPS or other power quality equipment, batteries and/or UPS and distribution switchgear. Developed verbal and written communications skills. Developed interpersonal skills.
