Oversee the building management of 7+ FAS buildings, comprised of administrative and classroom buildings located in and around Harvard Yard.
Manages and oversees all aspects of building operations to ensure that the highest quality service is provided in support of the Academic Mission of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences.
Supervise contractors/vendors including maintenance, security and custodial staff and as assigned by supervisor.
Assists supervisor to establish and oversee processes needed for maintenance, emergency repairs, safety program and renovations. Inputs and tracks work orders via web-based system.
Daily review of computer-based HVAC and access control systems, monitors safety compliance, coordinates inspections and ensures compliance with codes and regulations.
Analyze, plan, schedule & manage multiple projects and renovations, including small - mid size capital projects up to $800,000. Collaborate with and support Project Managers working on larger capital projects as needed.
Works with Harvard Environmental Health and Safety to ensure facilities and engineering control safety systems are optimized to reduce safety risks.
Serves as the building contact with University Departments including Registrar's Office, Police and Security, Campus Services, Planning, HUIT, DCE, Commencement, Accessible Education Office.
Works closely with OPRP and Harvard University Office for Sustainability staff to implement best operations and maintenance practices, and to actively participate in FAS greenhouse gas and energy reduction efforts and goals for the facilities.
Works closely with Department Administrators, Faculty, Deans and other departmental staff.
Responsible for developing and tracking annual building operations budgets, and management of long-term maintenance planning database.
Works closely with Registrar's office and Dean of Students office to coordinate student group activities.
Responds to emergency situations as appropriate during both working and off-hours.
Performs other related tasks as required.

8+ years' experience in the management of physical facilities, including vendor and/or staff supervision experience.
Advanced education and/or technical training beyond high school.
Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty and senior administrators.
Diplomacy, negotiation, and consensus-building skills.
Critical/Essential Status: During emergency situations and severe inclement weather this position is designated as essential and critical to the operations of the FAS.
