Under general supervision of the Manager of Plant Operations, and HVAC Supervisor to perform skilled work at the experienced trade level of Water Treatment technicians
Water treatment technicians are responsible for maintaining water chemistry for Cooling Towers, Chillers, and Hydronic systems:
Maintain all chemistry of closed loops hydronic systems.
Maintain water chemistry of cooling towers systems.
Maintain water chemistry of chillers and clean tubes.
Test and log water chemistry of all systems on periodic basis.
Interpret water test results and troubleshoot systems as necessary.
Adjust chemical feed to systems to maintain proper tolerances.
Operate systems in a way that minimizers water/sewer costs over long term.
Maintain and install chemical feed stations for all systems.
Monitor all chemical inventory and order material accordingly.
Keep a working relationship with chemical contractor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Mechanical & operational knowledge of all machines & tools related to Cooling towers, Chillers and Hydronic systems.
Installation skills for installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications
Troubleshooting skills to determine causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it
Skill to repair machines or systems using the needed tools
Skill to perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed
Active Listening Skills by giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
Should be able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
Ability to monitor and assess performance of yourself and make improvements or take corrective action
Ability to talk to others and convey information effectively
Ability to manage one's own time both efficiently and productively
Must be able to perform strenuous physical labor, which includes heavy lifting, carrying up to 50 lbs., as well as standing, walking, reaching, carrying, stooping and kneeling

Maintaining composure, keeping emotions in check, controlling anger, and avoiding aggressive behavior, even in very difficult situations
Being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks

High School Diploma or GED equivalency
Good organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Basic computer skills to access/send emails and perform data entry into the maintenance work order system
Must possess and maintain a valid Kentucky driver's license
Salary Grade: 106 Salary Range: $17.76-$19.05/hr
