What you’ll be doing...
The Engineer Equipment role will hold the sole responsibility to decisively supervise & lead the VCP hardware implementation staging area team to optimize.
Carting/kitting, capital asset receipts.
Directs in-bound and out-bound inventories of servers, TORS, storage arrays, racking, power PDU’s minor material and supplies to ensure safe efficient storage and utilization of product.
Tracks, reconciles, and orders hardware inventories for the staging area to effectively eliminate out-of-stock items, out-of-date product and CIP (Construction In Progress) to exceed VCP Core, Edge & Lite project manager requirements.
Communicates with affected managers and associated personnel regarding capital & expense budgets, delays or other hardware changes that may affect a documented order’s delivery date, as well as to discuss alternative hardware needs where required to meet client demand.
Communicates with manufacturers, & vendors as needed to ensure timely delivery & capital receipt of ordered network hardware and equipment.
Supervises staging area workforce that receives, stocks, pulls & kits product in a manner that ensures work is completed using safe, OSHA compliant practices.
Exhibits ownership, and fosters effective communication at all levels of the organization. Maintains all business records and documentation as required including staging area product and asset inventories, assembly area inventory data and manufacturer sales, contact, and pricing communication within the LSIP.
Ensures logistics/shipments are executed according to third party processes.
Administers Inventory counts/ full physical inventory cycle counts monthly.
Operates, trains, and oversees certification of forklift, turret truck and motorized pallet jacks.
Coordinates with implementation team to ensure hardware is kitted & ready for assembly according to implementation team requests and schedules.
Processes all defective hardware returns (RMA’s) as required.
Optimizes & maintains a documented system of policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over staging area logistics to mitigate risk.
Schedules and coordinates all building/utility proactive maintenance as well as break fix.
Schedules and monitors maintenance and repair work needed on grounds and building including mowing, hvac, plumbing, & electrical.
Coordinates team for required capital improvements to building & infrastructure.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. While performing the duties of this role, this engineer equipment will be regularly required to lift up to 50 lbs., bend or stand on a ladder as necessary, fluently operate machinery at heights above 15 feet to perform essential lifting of pallets to shelve and remove hardware.
Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Evening and weekend work may be required.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
Three or more years of related work experience.
OSHA Compliance including 29 CFR 1910.
Willingness to travel.
A valid Driver's License.
Even better if you have:
Two or more years in supervisory role.
Fluent knowledge of VCP Core & Edge Hardware.
SFP functionality & transmission rates.
Ability to successfully perform essential functions of this role.
Single & multimode fiber including OM1, OM2, OM3 & OM4.
DC Power distribution including fusing & conductor sizing.
AC Power distribution including PDUs, C13-C14, C19-C20 & C19-C14.
