We are currently looking to fill the position of Energy Services Specialist. This position is located in Braham, MN, and reports to the Supervisor, Energy Services. This position is also required to be on an on-call rotation.
This person will install, inspect, maintain, and repair energy management equipment. As well as promote the cooperative's energy efficiency and conservation programs and perform electrical and mechanical plant maintenance, installations, and repair on cooperative owned or managed facilities.
Additional responsibilities include administering member-owned distributed energy interconnections.
An Energy Services Specialist must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate a high level of confidentiality and integrity.
Experience and Education: Two-year technical degree, plus a minimum of 4 years basic electrical installation or HVAC experience; or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge. A Journeyman Level Electrician’s License and a valid driver’s license is also required.
Interpersonal Skills:? A self-motivated individual in this position must be able to communicate clearly to employees and members when answering inquires, resolving customer complaints, and providing education on programs and rebates. A qualified candidate will also be able to prioritize numerous tasks required in the coordination of several customer and /or contractor meetings and installations.
Technical Skills: A qualified candidate understands laws, codes, and rules regarding safety to construct a safe electrical system. They will also need basic understanding of building construction, and skill in reading floor plans and equipment manufacturer specifications.
Work Environment: Safe working practices must always be understood and utilized. The individual will work in an office and field environment. Employees may be required to work in a stressful environment while under strict deadlines and while dealing with customers, employees, and the public. Must be able to remain calm and professional when dealing with potential conflicts. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
This position requires a pre-employment physical and substance testing and may be subject to random testing following the Cooperative’s substance policy.
