Position Summary The Vice President, Accounting provides oversight of the global accounting and tax functions. Ensures monthly close process delivers accurate and timely financial results. Partners with Finance to ensure financial results are communicated to the business.
Provide managerial oversight of global accounting. 50%
Oversees general accounting department systems, policies, practices, and procedures.
Directs preparation of required financial reports.
Improves and implements financial controls, ensuring accurate control and accounting of assets and accounts.
Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, and best practices in the accounting profession; applies this knowledge to recommend and implement process and policy changes.
Ensure company is compliant with global tax rules. Primarily liaison with outsourced tax work to PwC. 20%
Ensure annual audit is completed timely and efficiently. 15%
Assists auditors, gathering and providing information and documents needed for inquiries.
Support annual budgeting process. 15%
Responsible for effectively managing and developing the team to facilitate efficiencies, exceptional customer service and productivity.
Knowledge and Experience
10+ years of general accounting experience
5+ years managerial experience leading a global accounting function.
Strong experience with managing teams.
Advanced skills in accounting and financial reporting. Thorough understanding of cost accounting principles and procedures.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Proficient with or able to quickly learn the accounting software used by the organization.
Education and Certification
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other related field, or equivalent experience is required.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is strongly preferred.
