Goucher College seeks to hire an Electrical Maintenance Technician. This role will maintain, trouble shoot and repair complex electrical systems such as fire alarms, electronically controlled lighting systems and handicap operating doors in campus buildings. Candidate should also be able to effectively diagnose and repair small household and commercial appliances such as refrigerators, microwaves, stoves, washing machines, dryers, and other electrical appliances and their component systems for electrical issues as they arise. Candidate should be a strongly motivated self-starter who thrives in an environment where teamwork and solo work are performed in equal amounts.
The Electrical Maintenance Technician will:
Survey projects and repairs Perform tasks related to troubleshooting problems and performing their repair Develop plans to accomplish work as required Report to Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Supervisor Respond to and resolve daily maintenance issues and emergencies as they arise Assist contractors and develop scopes of work for project installations Serve as core essential employee Participate in an on call rotational schedule
High School Diploma or Equivalency 4-year Apprenticeship certificate in the Electrical trade, Journeyman Electrical License 1-2 years' experience in the Electrical field
2-4 years of experience in the Electrical Field, preferably in a Higher Education setting Familiar with Current Local, State, and Federal electrical codes and standards
