This position supports the mission of Presbyterian/St Luke’s Medical Center of optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. Under the supervision of the Director of Facilities, provides guidance and inspects plant operations work activities associated with Chillers, Boilers, cooling towers, HVAC systems, medical air systems, kitchen equipment ice machines, water management system and other facility systems as directed. When needed, will perform other duties as assigned by DFM and assumes twenty-four hour responsibility for the facility infrastructure.

HVAC/R Certification, must be able to obtain a Stationary Engineers license within 4 years.
Trades School Completions or Equivalent Experience.
Minimum 5 years’ experience leading Mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems (MEP) including high and low presser steam boilers producing over 10hp and steam pressure over 15 psi or water heating boilers when the water temperature exceeds 250 degrees F in the system, and minimum of one (1) year operating refrigeration equipment preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Plant Operations/Facilities Maintenance Management (healthcare experience is a plus).
Two years management experience preferred, including leading a team of 10 or more, vendor contracts and small project management.
Special Qualifications: Knowledge of and ability to use hand and power tools. Demonstrates ability to effectively manage department(s) quality service, budgets and staffing. Also, appropriately establishes priorities. Knowledge of laws and regulations relative to safety management, equipment management, security management and emergency preparedness. Demonstrates ability to anticipate problems and works effectively to resolve issue and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing to patients, physicians, administration, peers and staff.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements pertinent to health care facilities, including The Joint Commission, NFPA99, NFPA101, OSHA, and EPA. Knowledge of hospital mechanical systems, including utility management and control system, HVAC systems, medical gases, electrical distribution, emergency power, fire protection/alarm system.
