We are seeking a manager, facilities services to lead the facilities services department to ensure high quality, cost effective operations in the areas of building construction and maintenance, physical security, food service, office and technical services.
Leads the planning, budgeting, design, and construction of new office and transmission division outpost facilities.
Manages ongoing maintenance and operation of facilities.
Directs the efficient operation and maintenance of buildings and grounds, including HVAC systems and general maintenance of buildings and grounds.
Manages planned preventative and emergency maintenance in conformance with health, safety and U.S Green Building Council LEED requirements.
Manages outsourcing of contractors for facilities work (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting and janitorial, etc.).
Develops, evaluates and coordinates internal review of plans and budgets for new construction projects and building remodeling.
Selects and manages building contractors and engineering consulting firms.
Oversees project schedules, change orders and budgets for construction projects to ensure on time and on budget project delivery.
Understands and promotes U.S. Green Building Council LEED-NC construction certification process into building projects.
Leads, coaches and assists staff to maximize productivity and teamwork including providing work direction, managing performance, supporting training and development, administering company policies, fostering positive employee relations and leading continuous improvement efforts.
Ensures utilization of standard operating procedures/processes through knowledge sharing and identification of business improvements.
Recommends staffing needs in support of business needs.
Assists with preparation and manages the facilities portion of the business operations budget for O&M, capital and labor budgets for the director, business operations.
Ability and knowledge to ensure that employees and contractors are adhering to safety and certification processes and procedures.
Manages physical security systems and programs for headquarters and transmission outpost facilities.
Coordinates public safety, law enforcement, and fire protection issues with the safety and security administrator, transmission division.
Manages office services programs and equipment to improve organizational workflow, information techniques and administrative operations.
Ensures the efficient and cost-effective operation of the cafeteria and delivery of food services at Maple Grove headquarters .
Education & Experience:
Knowledge typically acquired through a bachelor's degree in business or related field and a minimum of five years of experience in facilities management and three years supervisory experience. Experience within a union environment preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge of facilities operations, maintenance and management including USGBC LEED requirements for new construction and existing buildings.
Knowledge of bid, quote and award procedures.
Knowledge of physical security systems and techniques.
Skill in leadership and project management.
