GTI Properties is seeking a client-focused and detail-oriented Events Director to drive all event operations at the SoWa Power Station. While working on galas, weddings, and everything in between, you’ll be key to ensuring guests have an unforgettable time. The Events Director will be responsible for every aspect of event prep, from lead qualification and information gathering, to planning menus, bar packages, decor, seating, to evaluating the success of all events. Strong vendor management and relationship-building skills with all crew leading up to events will be critical. You will also be responsible for day-of logistics and being readily available on event days, ensuring everything runs smoothly. Excellent communication and organizational skills are vital, as our success depends on meeting our clients’ tailored requirements.
About the SoWa Power Station
Located in the SoWa Art + Design District, the 25,000sqft Power Station has recently performed a complete refurbishment and renovation. It includes: Floor to ceiling custom steel windows with multiple outdoor access points for tented events, soaring industrial ceiling, 120-year-old restored brick walls, new large capacity HVAC system, state of the art catering kitchen, large restroom facilities, poured and polished artisan cement floor, large capacity electrical system with outlets distributed throughout the property, and a 5,000sqft second floor breakout room with bar and meeting facilities.
Qualify inbound leads to ensure this is the right space for their needs and budget
Book all types of events, inclusive of trade shows, galas, weddings, art exhibits, etc.
Identify the client’s requirements and expectations for each event
Negotiate vendor contracts and maintain event budgets
Liaise with vendors, exhibitors, and stakeholders during the planning process to ensure everything is in order
Address all client questions and concerns leading up to the event
Manage all event set-up, tear down, and follow-up processes
Conduct final inspections on event days to ensure everything adheres to client standards
Assess an event’s overall success and submit findings to leadership
Be on-site and accessible for most events, in case of any issues

Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Public Relations, or a similar field is preferred
3+ years experience coordinating and managing events, large and small (The venue has a 1,600-person standing capacity)
Experience with the Tripleseat event management system
Ability to be on-site during the work week and for most events
Experience living and/or working in the Greater Boston area highly preferred
Well-organized with excellent multi-tasking abilities and attention to detail
Outstanding vendor management skills
Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
