The Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors of Texas is a state trade association founded in 1914. Its purpose and mission are to advocate for the licensed skilled trades dedicated to plumbing and hvac. As a provider of state-mandated continuing education, PHCC takes the lead in producing quality curriculum, employing the most experienced instructors, and providing top-notch customer service to members and non-members alike.
The Executive Director of this association works to carry out the administrative and leadership functions as directed by the board of directors, and oversees a staff to assist in the functions of the organization along with maintaining a viable presence in the state legislative system.
Board Governance: Works with the board in order to fulfill the organization mission.
Responsible for leading in a manner that supports and guides the overall purpose of the association as laid out by the board.
Responsible for effective and timely communication with the board and officers.
Provide dates, locations, and materials for four (4) quarterly board meetings per year.
Financial Performance: Oversees resources earned by the association through dues, education offerings, affinity programs and other non-dues revenue sources.
Responsible for preparing and obtaining board approval for an annual budget.
Preparing monthly financials and presenting those to the officers and board on a timely basis.
Operate within the approved budget and working closely with officers for any variances as they may arise.
Responsible for generating and developing additional resources through education, membership growth, and scholarship fundraising.
Organizational mission and strategies: Works with the board and their direction to carry out the mission of the association, including its legislative efforts.
Oversee the work of contracted lobbyist, attorney, and auditors to implement and manage the association’s work.
Develop and maintain relationships with key organizations, committees, legislative bodies, and other groups which position PHCC for its work.
Being a visible presence and participant at local chapter events and meetings, organizations that assist us in our efforts, and other groups as deemed necessary by the board of directors.
Maintaining relationships with national organization
Operations: Oversee staff and building operations to run efficiently and within budget.
Hire, train and manage staff to run education and association programs.
Oversee technology, equipment, and other contracts in place to maintain office.
Maintain all contracts, insurances, and services necessary to ensure the professional and responsible management of the association.
Maintain all accessibility to websites, accounts, and state reporting agencies as required by association work.
Bachelor’s Degree or higher, preferably in business or communications.
