Morris County Golf Club is a private golf club located in Morristown, NJ 45 minutes west of New York City. Beautifully designed by Seth Raynor and C.B. MacDonald in 1920 after being founded in 1894. The classic design features several template holes showcasing the use of the unique topography on our 150 Acre property.
The Senior Assistant Superintendent is a vital position and will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent, Assistants and staff and will be active in all aspects of the club. We are looking for a self driven and professional who is comfortable in a fast paced team environment.
Morris County Golf Club has 15 modified push-up poa greens and 5 USGA Spec recycled poa sodded greens that are plumbed with Sub-Air. Our tees and fairways consist of bentgrass/poa/rye. Roughs and surrounds are bluegrass/tall fescue/rye.
A minor restoration of the golf course was completed in 2016 with the rebuilds of 4 greens, all bunkers lined with Billy Bunker, and all green surrounds re-grassed. Several tees were rebuilt and a few fairway contours moved and aligned.
This fall we are renovating 8 har-tru tennis courts from electric valve irrigation to HydroCourt tennis courts as well as renovating our practice tee and target greens with Tahoma 31 Bermuda and new irrigation.
We are currently in the process of planning a state of the art Turf Care Facility scheduled to break ground in 2022 as well as planning our next round of golf course restoration work. This is an excellent opportunity for the Senior Assistant Superintendent to gain valuable experience in planning, supervising and executing major projects.

Assists in planning and supervising the maintenance of greens, tees and fairways; schedules work and supervises the employees and the use of the equipment.
Instructs equipment operators on the operation and care of mowing and other equipment; supervises pesticide applications and/or operates and calibrates pesticide application equipment; supervises and participates in the operation and maintenance of pumps, irrigation systems, central computer, and drainage systems.
Implements proper hand watering practices on putting greens, surrounds, and other playing surfaces.

The club recently completed $8 million in renovations on the golf course, clubhouse, and paddle tennis facility, and are planning more golf course restoration work currently. Renovations on a state of the art Turf Care Facility is scheduled to begin in 2022.
