Annie Wright is seeking an Athletics and Performing Arts Facilities Manager to begin November 5th, 2021. This is a full time, exempt position.
Typical Hours: Wednesday – Sunday (1:00-9:00 pm Wed-Fri & 8:00 am-5:00 pm Sat/Sun) while school is in session. Summer hours: Monday – Friday 1:00-9:00 pm.

Reporting to the Director of Athletics and the Director of Arts with dotted line accountability to the Maintenance and Security Director, the Athletics and Performing Arts Facilities Manager provides oversight of all Kemper Center athletics facilities plus the theatre and dance studio. They will also provide program management for community-based programming, including the oversight of external constituents who seek use of Annie Wright athletics and arts facilities. Accountable to the Maintenance Director for any maintenance on the facilities, the Facilities Manager ensures the arts and athletics facilities are effectively maintained and supervised, manages game and performance operations including evening and weekend administrative responsibilities, and is able to cover additional responsibilities, as needed, for the benefit of the student experience, including but not limited to providing transportation to AWS teams in the absence of a driver.
As a key member of the Arts and Athletics team, and an important presence in student activity facilities and events, the Athletics and Performing Arts Facilities Manager is a friendly and helpful partner for students and families and creates an environment that supports and enhances the student experience. As such, the Facilities Manager is critical in supporting the mission of Annie Wright Schools.
Position Overview: Core Duties and Responsibilities
The Athletics and Performing Arts Facilities Manager:
Provides oversight and maintenance of several school facilities including the theatre, gyms, pool, weight room, locker rooms, and school fields
Addresses pool specific maintenance such as chemical balancing and vacuuming
Maintains outdoor facilities including weeding and pressure washing
Provides set-up and breakdown for home sporting events, theatrical productions, and all schools events using the theatre, gyms, and/or field, which will entail set-up and tear-down of equipment including but not limited to chairs, scorer’s tables, bleachers, sound system, light fixtures, and sport-specific needs such as soccer goals, field lining, volleyball nets, basketball hoops, etc.
The Athletics/Performing Arts Facilities Manager will demonstrate key elements of the listed expertise and experiences. The Athletics and Performing Arts Facilities Manager:
Is creative, reliable, proactive, and has a solution-oriented mindset
Has experience working with students and families, ideally in an academic setting
Has experience in program management and strong interpersonal skills
Has excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to contribute to a team environment and interfaces well with varied constituencies
Has the ability to handle multiple projects and tasks with great attention to detail to meet deadlines in an environment with interruptions and competing deadlines
Can work evenings and weekends, and travel as required
Has five to seven years of facilities and maintenance experience
HS Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
Has experience with cultural-competency or DEI practices
Is eligible to work in the United States
