This position exists to weld as needed in the construction, installation, modification, and repair of the University of Tennessee Knoxville's plumbing, sewer, storm sewer, gas, steam infrastructure facilities, hand rails, platforms, other welding as required and to insure the continued safe and reliable distribution and discharge of utility pipe lines to the Campus The Welder performs and coordinates welding activities using heliarc, shielded metal arc, and oxy-acetylene welding equipment, welding on various materials including high pressure steam line work, and general campus repairs. Will also assist other shops and departments as directed, on campus, in the performance and completion of various projects as needed to ensure the highest possible level of customer satisfaction.
