Advertised Job Summary:
Maintains and follows a safe, productive, cost effective, and comprehensive electrical modification program relating to campus-wide electrical systems. This includes, but is not limited to, building, lighting, power circuits, and emergency systems by receiving a limited number of project work orders; communicating with the supervisor or lead man; planning, inspecting, verifying, communicating, and problem solving assigned facility modification electrical issues. Assist with ensuring that all facility electrical systems are left in safe working order and ensuring that all work performed follows the departmental and OSHA safety guidelines and are compliant with national and local codes and regulations while exhibiting professionalism in conduct, appearance, and work practices.
Assists with the installation of conduit, electrical raceways, electrical emergency systems such as fire alarms, smoke detectors, emergency lighting, and new electrical services; the remodeling and renovating of building electrical systems to accommodate increased load requirements; providing power to HVAC, laboratory, and specialty equipment; and pulling wire and cable for electrical requirements while ensuring that work is in code compliance.
Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
High school diploma and two years of experience in electrical maintenance and/or installation in commercial or industrial applications or equivalency. South Carolina Driver's License required.
